Due to rising cases and hospitalizations over the last few weeks, L.A. County has moved into the CDC's high virus activity level.

Supervisor Barker alluding to the fact that none of the 38 counties already in the high transmission phase, including Ventura, is choosing to reinstate the mask mandates.

Do you foresee any kind of mandates?

Today we've got a nice big COVID episode for you. We're going to talk about Los Angeles County's

announcement that they

intend to reinstate an indoor mask mandate. But before we get into that, I just want to

quickly run through where we are at right now with the pandemic. So as it currently stands,

it's the 20th. We're in late July 2022. And globally, the number of new weekly COVID cases has been steadily increasing for

five consecutive weeks. And that's coming after a overall declining trend, where we saw basically

things looking better since the last peak in March 2022. But it is clearly not trending in that

direction anymore.
