Well, teaching your kids to pray is probably one of the best habits you can impart to them.

But how do you do that when your children just won't sit still? I'm John Fuller, along with Dr. Danny Werthe,

who heads up the focus on the family parenting department. Danny, what was your experience like

teaching your two angelic children how to pray? Yeah, there's always energy,

right? And we're teaching our kids to talk to somebody that they can't see. That's big. Yeah.

That's a hard one, John. Yet they have amazing imaginations. And so work with that. I know when our kids were little, they were exposed to

praying at their grandparents' house, both sets, and then our home, because both sets of

grandparents live in the area. And so they're exposed to prayer a lot from an early age. Not

everyone has that kind of setup. And so it just became part of their culture.

Now, in our home, I did notice there are moments where they were much more attentive than others,

more ready than other times. And I had to remind myself, this is about a conversation they

need to learn to be a part of. So the more they watch me,

the more they'll want to mimic that. And we did keep the prayers pretty short and engaged

in prayer books that helped us do some prayers where they were interactive with that prayer.

Yeah. Because they didn't know how to initiate that prayer. And then over time, we were just saying,

hey, let's just talk to Jesus. And we would pray one word, then they'd pray the other and mimic that.
