There have been countless stories that have come about as a result of the pandemic.

Some are heartbreaking while others are inspirational.

The way we as human beings respond to these circumstances say so much about who we are and what we aspire to be.

An encouraging thing has been seeing artists and performers who have taken their talents to create work that makes us smile and laugh and remember that we are not alone in all this.

Photographer Christopher Fernandez found a way to explore that very idea

when he hung a sign on his London apartment window

to be read by the inhabitants of a building across the way.

That sign said that he was a photographer

looking for subjects to photograph in their own flat.

Because of social distancing, he couldn't go to their places he usually might.

Instead, he would be photographing them from his own apartment and directing them over the phone.
