I've crossed paths with so many people in my career, a lot of them in passing.

It's easy to feel a connection with someone and intend to follow up, but never get around to it.

I don't know about you, but it seems to me that it takes so much more time and effort to sustain friendships than when I was younger.

But sometimes fate provides a second chance, and that's exactly what I had with today's guest, Hades Salahi.

He and I at one point were teaching at the Art Center College of Design,

and though we were familiar with each other, we never had a proper sit-down.

But because of a reintroduction through a mutual friend,

I had the chance to sit down and learn about Hoddy's fascinating story as an

immigrant and an artist.

Hardy uses photography in a variety of different ways, including using different film development

processes, distressing, and even writing on his negatives and prints.

He doesn't allow the limitations of his medium to define his work

because he wants to do so much more than simply distract you for a few seconds.

And also if you look at the, when you go to the gallery, sometimes watch people, especially photo gallery,

people stay in your images maybe one second

to a second, they just pass by, they don't look at. I said, I have to change this one. I want

to make you to stay a little bit longer on my image. You get it, not to get it, but that

staying longer in one image to next image is just a goal for me because I do believe on that

little bit longer fraction of the second your brain going to see other things and they keep

looking keep looking and completely the people coming asking me, what do you write?

It really doesn't matter.
