For the past week, I've been down here in Johannesburg,

participating in the Photographic Society of South Africa's latest Congress,

which focused on street photography.

It's my first trip to the continent of Africa,

and it's been an amazing experience,

both creatively and personally.

I can't say enough about the many people that I've met

and the amazing things that they've shared with me.

One of the people that I met and had the pleasure to interview is Anton Bozeman,

a photographer who is as much in love with Johannesburg as I am in Los Angeles.

During his presentation, but also during the photo walk that he led,

I was impressed not only by his attention to the subtlety of light and scene, but also during the photo walk that he led. I was impressed not only by his attention

to the subtlety of light and scene, but also his knowledge of the city's history. It made my

experience of it all the more richer. Through him and the others that I've met here, I've been

able to discover Johannesburg in a very personal and intimate way.
