The smartphone has done a lot to change photography.

But I think the most important thing it's changed is how people are introduced to the world of photography.

The convenience and portability of the phone has made it possible for anyone to discover the joy that can be had by seeing and making photographs. And despite the fact that this same device introduced the world to selfies, well, there's always a price to be paid. There are people out there

right now making amazing work who might not have otherwise if it weren't for the camera that

you can slip in and out of your pocket. You just look through Instagram and you'll see

countless of photographers whose work doesn't come from a DSLR or a mirrorless

camera, but whose photographs are as good, if not better, than people who own the latest and

greatest in camera gear. David Ingram is a talented photographer who began his photographic

explorations with a traditional camera.

But who now makes the camera phone his weapon of choice, and in my opinion, his images are nonetheless for it.

His photographs are wonderful to look at, not because of the camera that he's used, but because he has what every photographer needs to have to be exceptional.
