questions over the last year about 1031's. It's come up in a lot of conversations. We wanted to bring on an

expert to talk about that topic. So Jason, maybe you can tell the listeners a little bit about your

background. Well, my name is Jason Salmon. I'm senior vice president at K Properties. We do specialize

in private equity real estate as a kind of general wider description. And then as a subset of that, 1031 exchanges are a big

part of our business and the Delaware statutory trust structure as well. I've come to this point

by being on the other side of the business at the front end of my career, more on the research

analysis, report writing, data, gathering. And then on this part of my career, kind of morphed

and developed into private equity real estate through the course of a few decades. So now our

day-to-day is helping investors find the right securitized real estate deals, fractional ownership real estate

deals for their situation, whether it be for the 1031 exchange or as direct cash investments.

So when you say fractional real estate deals in kind of common term, what does that mean?

Well, it's that our firm, we work with real estate firms that go out and buy sizable real estate deals that are tens of millions of dollars in most cases.

In some cases, there are hundreds of millions of dollars.

And they'll go and they'll buy these properties.
