President Donald Trump says a 25% tariff on imported goods from Mexico and Canada takes effect tomorrow. In a news conference this afternoon, Trump said both major U.S. trading partners had, quote,

no room left to negotiate.

I would just say this to people in Canada or Mexico, if they're going to build car

plants, the people that are doing them are much better off building here because we have

the market, we're the market where they sell the most.

Trump signed an executive order doubling tariffs on all Chinese goods from 10 to 20 percent.

He says China hasn't done enough to curb fentanyl in the U.S. Trump's remarks

sends stock markets plunging, where the dialed down as much as nearly 900 points at one point

in afternoon trading. Meanwhile, the president said he didn't think a deal to secure access to Ukraine's

rare earth minerals is dead, and that he'll have more on it during his joint address to Congress tomorrow night. A White House official says Elon Musk will be there.

Trump says Ukrainian President Volodymy Zelensky, quote, should be more appreciative,

following their clash last week at the White House.

It should not be that hard a deal to make. It could be made very fast. Now, maybe somebody doesn't want to make a deal.

And if somebody doesn't want to make a deal, I think that person won't be around very

long.

This is a tremendous move by the most powerful company in the world.
