All right, everybody, welcome back to another edition of The Teardown.

My name is Jeff Buck, and I'm along with my co-worker, Jordan Pianke.

We are writers for the athletic, and we are sitting here at Talladega Super Speedway,

together on a Monday evening where we have just witnessed Bubba Wallace's first career victory in the NASCAR Cup series.

Quite the unexpected weekend with three first-time winners.

The first time in NASCAR history, that there's been three first-time winners at the same track in the same weekend.

So how about that, Jordan?

It's crazy.

A lot of craziness this weekend.

A crazy race.

You say Monday, and I keep thinking it's Sunday, because I'm losing sight of where we're at

or what time it is.

It was quite the race today, and it's, I mean, it's not, it's fair to say this is a historic

win for a lot of reasons.

Yeah, so this is one of those where, you know, we just finished writing our story just to set

the scene here.

And we kind of like when we came into this little room here where we're doing our podcast,

we started looking at the results a little bit and we're like, oh, that guy finished

there, like, oh, this is what the points are. Because, you know, you get so caught up in the

post race scene. And of course, when, you know, look like Bubba Wallace is going to get a historic

victory, the first black driver since 1963 to win a Cup series race. We're like, we need to go out and capture the scene. So you sort of lose track of the bigger picture of everything.

And so we're going to be digesting this everything that happened along with you guys in real time.
