Tastebuds. I'm Vanessa Faulkner and this is my series all about food,

mental health, well-being, sustainability and everything in between. This week I'm chatting to the wonderful Dr. Anita Mitra.

Anita is an NHS doctor working in obstetrics and gynecology

with experience in both clinical medicine and research.

Prior to becoming a doctor, she worked in a research lab on the anti-cancer mechanisms of

various phytonutrients, and she has recently completed her PhD on the vagina microbiome and the reproductive complications of treatment in cervical pre-cancer.

Anita goes by the name of the Giny Geek on social media and it's also the title of her first book, an accessible informative guide to

down their health care.

I absolutely loved popping around to Anitas for this conversation.

She has such a calm, funny, warm presence that even though I was feeling completely flustered that day,

I felt so good when I left her. She's just a wonderful human being.

The conversation centers around Anita's story and
