Oh, yeah. Spooky. Spooky time. Spooky time. The other day, Carla was getting ready, and she called me into the bathroom, and she said, I have stepped on a tile seam on the floor, and immediately I thought in my head, step on a crack, break my mama's back. And she asked me, she said, do you ever think of that?

I said, oh my gosh, yes, all the time. If I'm walking on a sidewalk, I am absolutely trained to skip the cracks because I grew up saying that little thing and it was ingrained in my mind.

Now, as much as I tried not to, I stepped on a bunch of cracks, and my mama never had a broken back.

But as a grown-up, I still do my best to avoid them.

So we all know that there's a, you know, where we place our feet, none of that has anything to do with the spinal cord condition of our mothers.

But who came up with this?

And why?

Where did it come from?

It turns out that there's more than just one line to this.
