you know, my mama's name was Doris. And she was the deal. She was, she was everything for me.

My dad, not a bad guy at all, had a problem with the bottle a little bit.

So his fatherly duties were not so great.

I mean, he provided, and he, you know, back, you know, many, many years ago, being a father didn't mean you was all warm and fuzzy.

She was the backbone of the family, without a doubt.

She worked at the drugstore. She managed the snack bar, the grill and everything. And I'd go up there in the summertime and worked a little bit

in the drugstore and done some different things and whatever. And we had a really good relationship. My brother was 11 years older

than me. So he was gone out of high school to college and he went to the army and stuff. So

it was me and my mama a lot, a whole lot. And she probably had as much, if not more to do with how I turned out.

I didn't go to jail.
