Even though I did some research online a few years back on ancestry finding who my real family was, I was raised as a foster kid, so I was looking at my real family under the West name. I got a bunch of

information and dated it back to the 1500s from England and whatnot and most of

them settled in New York and thought nothing of it for quite a few years and then I'm a mailman so I drive around in my jeep all day delivering mail so I got a lot of time so I listened to

podcasts and different YouTube stories and I was listening to the book, the audio book that Jesse James's son, Jesse James Jr. wrote in 1899.

Throughout this book, at one point they mentioned when

Jesse James got shot in the lung when he was trying to surrender at the end of the Civil War,

how he was taken back to his mother's house by Steamboat and one of his fellow Confederates there went along with him and the guy's name was Richard West.

So I'm like, oh, I got to look this up.

Well, come to find out Richard West's father was Tillman West. Tillman West was married to Elizabeth

James, which was Jesse's aunt.

Jesse's father and Elizabeth were brother and sister

and Tillman married Elizabeth and they had a bunch of kids and Richard West was one of them.
