Conversion therapy doesn't work.

Setting aside the very real question of why someone should or would want to fix their orientation or gender identity,

major medical bodies like the American Medical Association and the American Psychological Association

have long since concluded that conversion therapy does not work and is associated with increased

depression, anxiety, and suicidality. Yet, until shockingly recently, it's been considered a perfectly

valid medical practice. At the same time, well-evidence forms of gender-affirming care are being

interfered with or downright

banned across the nation and the world against the wishes of medical providers.

In a post-COVID lockdown society with medical misinformation and culture war content being

beamed directly to our fingertips, it's probably a good time to discuss personal freedom and ideology

presented as health care. What does freedom of choice, bodily autonomy, and good science
