Unconditional love implies that the person receiving is not obligated to provide anything in exchange.

The phrase is a keystone for evangelism across the globe. However, this unconditional love

surprisingly comes with a laundry list of conditions. When pointing out this contradiction,

many Christians will reply that God still loves you whether you believe or not, but he still has to punish wrongdoing.

Most parents discipline their children, but there's a big difference between a timeout and an eternity of torment.

Why are most earthly parents better at unconditional love than their maximally powerful God?
