In the Gospel of Luke, when asked by a lawyer, actually, what his neighbour is, in the context of loving thy neighbour,

Jesus proceeds, pardon me, to tell the story of the good Samaritan.

Now, even heathens like us are familiar with the story of the wounded traveller, passed over by the priest and the Levite,

and finally assisted by the travelling Samaritan. But historically,

who were the Samaritans? According to Christian scholars, they were a people who were from a

neighbouring country. They had a very similar faith, monotheistic. They believed in Yahweh. But their

differences made them reviled by the Jews. Hated and shunned, they were ignored or put down, seen as lesser, and the Jews would avoid them if necessary.

So, mind you of anyone, your neighbours today, who perhaps share of faith but have their differences, maybe speak a different language and come from across a border, and are currently being hunted down,

rounded up, and shipped away. So, as crazy as it may sound for someone who doubts the divinity

and can criticise some of the character of Jesus Christ, I say that we should take some of its

words to heart and actually love our neighbour. But if you're one of the faithful who proclaim that Jesus is your

Lord and Savior, but you're fine with watching your neighbours, having their dignity stripped away from

them, having their families broken up, being taken, imprisoned, shipped away like pariahs and

criminals when they are in fact completely innocent and productive members of this

society then you should give us a call because you are against your messiah and the show is starting now
