So there's a question that is asked to us atheists quite often, especially by believers and apologists who presuppose a higher power.

What is the basis for knowledge?

Now, how about I think about this?

And I can't honestly say I know anything for sure.

I have to make certain assumptions based on my experience and

perceptions from my own personal history. I have no answer to the hard solipsism question. I can't

know if I am the only consciousness in the universe.

So I have to just make these assumptions to interact with the world. However, these believers will say that our knowledge comes from God.

But their explanations, they leave me cold.

Some will say it comes from scripture. Some will say from personal revelation.

A couple of weeks ago, I had someone give me a nine-premise five conclusion syllogism,

so packed full of set theory jargon, it made my head hurt. So if you are a believer,

if you believe that God is the basis for all knowledge,

and you can give me an explanation that doesn't make me feel like you've just driven a railway spike through my brain,
