Women are often regarded as the inferior sex by their gods, religions, and consequently their own societies.

Why is it that these ancient dogmas have targeted women?

Why are women still following these systems that take away their rights, their equality,

and not only make them the subjects of their husbands, but levy incredibly harsh double standards upon them. In Judaism and Christianity,

do we hear stories of men being stoned to death for not being virgins at marriage or being sold

into marriage by their fathers? We don't. Under Islamic Sharia law, our men can find at the house

unless they have a female escort. Do they have to cover their entire bodies

to avert the covetous eyes of another sex? We don't hear about that. Since the days of Adam and Eve,

women have been the scapegoat of patriarchal societies and have been repressed because of someone's

God and the fact that someone's God says so. Why is this still happening? Debates are ongoing about how, why, and where

gender roles began, but one thing is for certain the treatment of women by religion is flat out wrong.
