I'm home from my jet-setting and happy to dive back in.

And for the record, Iceland absolutely did not disappoint.

It's a hauntingly gorgeous place,

the sort of rugged, fantastical beauty that makes it easy to believe that deadly sea serpents and murderous mountain trolls are just as real as you and I.

In addition to soaking in the endless natural wonders, we even managed to sneak in a little

finger quotes urban exploration, picking our way through an old abandoned farmhouse, complete with a musty, unsettling attic full of

creepy knick-knacks, a knee-high pile of rotting sheep's horns, and what looked like some hikers'

abandoned belongings. And of course, no exploration of an abandoned building is complete without the unexplained

bangings and a large crash from the depths of the empty house as we were leaving.

If I had one regret from the trip, it's missing the Icelandic Museum of Witchcraft and

Sorcery, which, among other things, has an authentic

pair of necropants. Think the perfectly preserved, peeled skin of a man from the waist down.

Kind of like a pair of human leather juggings, complete with dangly bits.

But that's a pretty small regret.
