Come on in and get situated. Your timing was perfect. I just wrapped up my first Clive Barker book. I'd seen a Hellraiser movie or two, but had never read any of the books. I started with the Scarlet Gospels, which was on last year's Reader's Choice List from Goodreads and Horror.

I had read that there were people that were critical of whether or not it was truly horror story,

because it was quite heavy on the urban fantasy as opposed to the gruesome, uncomfortable, terrible horror of other Harry Diomore stories.

I could see that.

The book would be right at home on a shelf next to a Sandman Slim book and a little farther away on the shelf from a Harry Dresden book.

I found it a good read, and I'd recommend it to you,

but despite what I just said, there are some pretty,

I'll simply say, gross scenes in it.
