Welcome to Tales to Terrify. Good evening, children of the night. Come on into the cabin. It's chilly here in the Shenandoah,

but I think that winter may very well be on the way out. Well, come on in and have a seat. We have a fire and some warm cider over there. Help yourself. I've been getting some reading done, and it's not squarely in our shared genre of horror.

I'm within the last hundred pages of Stephen King's Dark Tower series, which is thousands

of pages long altogether. It's been a big log jam for me, since as a host of a horror podcast,

I really do want to focus on the things that go bump in the night.

Once I'm through that, with my longer reads, I think I'll focus on the Goodreads

Choice Award nominees for 2015. Link will be in the show notes if you'd like.

Nick Cutter is on the list, and I really liked the troupe. My wife read David Mitchell's

Slade House, so maybe I'll give that one a go.

While we're on the topic of awards, as you're hearing this, it's likely that the horror

writers association has released her final list of nominees for the Stoker Award, and we're likely

contacting authors to see if we can run their stories for our Stoker Awards episodes. As I'm

recording this, their prelim nominations had closed and the finals had not yet been published.

I've got my eye on a few favorites, but best of luck to all of the authors, particularly in the

short fiction category. First up will be a story from Aaron Caldwell.

Aaron is a second-year law student from Georgia.

She has a useless physics degree and feminist leanings.
