Hi Dr. Laura, thank you so much for taking my call again.

Well, you're welcome. What did we do the first time?

I called you back in August about problems I was having in my relationship with my husband.

He was getting very verbally aggressive with me and I was ready to walk out the door.

You can move very simple sentence to say.

And I think that that sentence has saved my marriage.

And what was the sentence?

You told me that the next time he was being aggressive to tell him that isn't very nice.

And I remember.

Yes, and I did that just sweetly. That isn't very nice.

That is what was his reaction the first time you did that ever so gently.

The first time he did it, I did it. He just stayed quiet turned on his heels and left.

Right. There was no answer to that. There was no answer.

The second time it happened, he looked me dead in the eye.

I'm going to try and say it's not fine.

Looked dead in the eye and he said, well, you aren't being very nice to me either.

And I said, I don't understand. I'm not the one yelling and screaming.

He says, what do you want me here for?

If I can't you and be the father, the man.

And I realized all of our arguments were centering around me protecting my children from him,
