0:20.0	Well, he was a foreigner.
0:23.0	And as is often the case, because of that, he was viewed with suspicion
0:27.0	by those who had power in the society where he now found himself.
0:31.0	And as unfortunately is often the case, because he was different, he was judged,
0:36.0	and then persecuted, and he suffered unjustly.
0:39.0	And a natural human response, he engaged.
0:43.0	Namely, he wanted to attack back.
0:45.0	To hit back at those who hit him, or finally, I want to escape.
0:48.0	I want to go back when I'm familiar.
0:49.0	I don't want to be in this strange place anymore.
0:52.0	But when he realized to attack and to retreat, we're not options for him.
0:56.0	He finally had to embrace a third way.
0:59.0	I will accept the structures in the society I'm in.
1:03.0	And I will excel at the things that we share in value.
1:07.0	I will embody higher ideas.
1:10.0	I will endure just suffering.
1:13.0	And as I excel and I endure, I will transform this culture.
1:18.0	And that is exactly what Daniel Laruso, the karate kid, did.
