Today's tip is to take a weekend day trip.

Yes, this requires a little planning,

but an adventure that you can't do on a This is first airing

is going to make your weekend feel more memorable

and full.

This episode is first airing in mid-October, and in my part of the world the fall

leaves are just coming into their peak color. This was one of the most beautiful times to get out and about and see the world near me.

But almost anywhere has something lovely within a two hour radius.

Lots of folks are still nervous about flying places or even

staying in hotels. But a day trip that's doable. And there are reasons to do it.

Memories are formed by novel and intense experiences.

The more memories we have of a given unit of time, the longer it seems. So one way to make weekends feel more expansive,

fill them with more memorable things.

Go apple picking and try the cider from a place an hour away.

See an art museum.

Go for a leaf peeping hike and then get a takeout dinner from a destination restaurant.

If you do these, you will definitely have something to recall on Monday morning
