little holiday break, I'm going to take this time

to just talk about something that's close to my heart, how creating three-dimensional art

can be a game changer for artists who may struggle working in 2D.

where I'll be showing a bunch of 3D behind the scenes, examples, spreads, and props throughout

the episode. So first things first, let's just talk about 3D. The catalyst for this segment

comes from a moment that happened a couple of years ago during a school event for my book

Thankful, written by Elaine Vickers. For each school visit of this particular event, I read the book

to a variety of classes and followed each reading session with a visual demonstration on how

to make a diorama that tells a story. More specifically, a tunnel book project that the

brilliant art teachers helped me put together for the kids to take part in. The classes really got to

work, and the amount of creativity that bounded from these projects honestly made me just want to

quit my job as an illustrator.

Kids work so often just blows my mind that I swear I get imposter syndrome more often with

these creators than I do with fellow adult creators.

Anyway, nearing the end of these visits, I received an

eye-opening aha email from one of the teachers about a particular child in one of the classes
