So, Ewan, we'll start where we always do at the very beginning and ask you, what are your earliest memories of food?

I think I had two clear memories, actually.

I was born in Scotland, as you know, I grew up a lot of time with my grandmother in a fishing village called Piton Wim on the east

nook, the east coast of Fife.

And there was sort of two very strong evocative memories of food.

One was going down to the harbour and seeing the boats coming in and the fishermen sort

of throwing my brother and I a few fish for us to take back up to my

grandmother's kitchen. And I seem to remember, you know, a lot of flatfish, you know, lemon,

soul being carried up and I'm watching my grandmother, fillet fish and cook delicious things

with it. That was one strong memory. and then the other was making marmalade.

You know, the Scots are very famous for their, not for their oranges, but for marmleith making
