Her first cookbook shares its name with a column and celebrates every kind of Friday

night feast from gathering with friends to solo dinners, and it's published on the 30th of March.

Ellie, as listeners, no, we always start this podcast in the same place.

We like to ask our guests, what is your earliest memory of food?

I think it's tricky with memories, isn't it?

Because I don't know if I'm remembering a real memory or if I've just seen a picture of it.

But I think I remember being on my

grandma's hip at, I think, possibly my third birthday party or something like that, and she was

holding a tray of butterfly cakes, which is what she always made for birthdays and any sort of party,

always with a glass-o cherry in the middle, essential.

I think I remember that, but I don't know if I've just seen pictures of it.

Butterfly cakes definitely feature highly in my kind of sheltered memories.
