For the first time, we're going to talk about the Texas Longhorns here on Thunder and Lightning.

Joe Cook joins me.

He has been with Inside Texas for a number of years.

They cover the Longhorns for On Three Sports.

And Joe, I'm going to ask you to make a couple of cases for me

to start things off here. make the case that in year

one Texas is going to win the SEC. Oh man that is a tough one to start off with but let's

go ahead and look at at schedule. They're toughest games, at least at this point, are either at a neutral site they're very familiar with or at home. And it's going to be in front of a pack crowd. The only problem is they're back to back and that's Oklahoma at the

Cotton Bowl in Dallas and then at Georgia heading to Austin the same weekend as a Formula One race.

You can ignore the non-conference that includes Michigan I guess in

this but they get it it's not the worst schedule there's some positives to

it you know looking at at it right now I know you have Mississippi State at home

you get Kentucky at home but you do have to go to Fayetteville and although there are

problems there they do have a talented quarterback it looks like and that's a place that

hates Texas. Similar applies to Texas A&M. They are going to be loud and

rocking and then of course, let's see Florida comes to town, I don't expect anything out of the gators.

So, you know, there are, if talent comes to bear, there are probably two games that will really decide if Texas is a number one or number two team in the SEC.

One of those is probably against a team with similar aspirations in Georgia.

And I think they have the quarterback to do it,

quarterback's to do it, to be fair.
