All right.

0:05.4

It is 14 weeks until the first football weekend of the season for SEC teams.

0:10.9

So we are ready to start our previews up.

0:13.6

And as Joel wanted to do, we're going to start with the defending national champions, the LSU Tigers.

0:18.2

Our friend Brody Miller joins us from the athletic.

0:21.0

There was no more interesting team in college football last year, even despite the national

0:25.0

title than LSU.

0:26.6

And on top of that, I mean, you just had so many characters, so many storylines.

0:31.0

From your standpoint, you had a lot to work with.

0:33.7

How interesting is LSU this year?

0:36.9

Yeah, I mean, I don't think anything will ever match up with just, like, you said, I mean, you nailed it, the characters, the storylines. I mean, I don't think there's ever, I can't think of any team in recent memories that just has more, just, yeah, different absurd narrative and all those things. But I think this year, I mean, it's not going to be last year in the storyline sense, but I think from just a pure week to week, you know, going to the season point of view, it's almost, it's almost just an interesting because then you start thinking, like, you know, which was it? Was it Burrow and Joe Brady or did they actually figure this offense out? You know, can they actually make that sustainable? You know, can they replace Joe Burrow with Miles Brennan?

1:12.7

You know, Dave Miranda, the great defensive coordinator, can vocally keep some of that going?

1:17.2

I think there's so many new questions that, luckily, at least, from a reporter standpoint,

1:22.8

it's given me plenty to discuss. And then you still have your big names, right?

1:27.3

Jamar Chase is probably the best receiver in college football. Stigley Jr. is probably the best quarterback in college football. So there's still a good amount of talent on this team, but of course it's never going to be 2019 again. Well, you sort of hit on the first thing. I think this is when people look at LSU this year, this is the first question they're going to ask about Joe Brady and Joe Burrow, who is easier to replace and do they have the pieces in place to

1:50.3

replace either one of them? It's a great question. I mean, I think in theory it's neither

1:55.0

easy, but Joe Brady's definitely easier to replace just in the sense that, you know, for example,

1:59.9

Joe Burrough, it's not like he brought in this talent and then he can leave it there. You know, Joe Brady, as much as, you know, they're losing his creativity and his play calling and some of those things, what they needed from him was somebody to bring this new offense and bring this new scheme. And he keeps Steve Ensinger kind of how to run the show.

2:36.3

And because Steve Endsinger, they like him as a play caller, they like him as a coach. He just need to catch up scheme-wise. So at least with Joe Brady, the playbook didn't go anywhere. So that's still there. And they can, in theory, still kind of keep that going. Joe Burrow, you just can't replicate that. I don't think you can't, you know, no recruiting or anything can get somebody that that just has that, one, that talent, two, that personality, that ability to make bad situations,

2:41.5

great ones, you know, that just comes around, you know, once every few years.

2:45.9

So, yeah, I mean, Miles Brennan is certainly a guy who was a decent recruit.
