Welcome to Our Hen House. This is Marianne Sullivan, and this is Jasmine Singer. And this week, we will be speaking with Nate Salpeter and Shira Jacobson. They are both from a place called Sweet Farm, which is an animal sanctuary that is very near where we live in Western New York. And so we did this interview in person. It was so much fun. They call it a climate sanctuary, which we'll talk to them about. They don't call it an animal sanctuary. You know, there's animals and it's a sanctuary, but it's a climate sanctuary. Well, they're trying to take a broad view of various things. So it's really interesting. They're really, really smart. We got to see some really lovely animals. We got to pick some garlic. It was hard because we didn't know what was what. We went to their garden area, and they had all these things growing. And we finally found a label that said garlic, so we knew that was the garlic.

Peña diner.

1:27.3

I knew you were going to bring that up. That was your favorite part of the day. That was my favorite part of my year. Are you kidding me? Like, we've already talked about this, and it's like kind of awful for other people to hear you talk about, like, restaurants that they haven't gone to. So I guess they just have to go. But it's like just epic. And there's a whole vegan men. You could get a vegan version of basically anything. Well, diner food. Diner food. I already said I want to spend my birthday there. That's like not for months, but I already have it planned. Yeah, I would like to go back there sooner than your birthday to tell you the truth. Okay. So next time you all are in Penn Yon, New York, I'm sure it happens a lot.

Drop into the diner.

2:03.3

So, yes, I'm excited about this interview.

2:06.7

And by the way, just real quick, we also spoke recently about how I was hosting Connections, the talk show at WXXXI, and I did a show on cultivated meat, and Nate came in.

2:17.1

And I do encourage people to listen to that

2:19.5

because it is a very different interview than this one. And so if you like Nate on this,

2:24.7

which you will love Nate on this, you have to then go listen to that. So you have your homework.

2:29.2

And they love you on this too. But you are a little different on connections than you are in

2:33.7

here because

2:34.2

you're not quite as outspoken. Right, right. I have to be a bit more of a journal. Yeah,
