Most Americans have probably heard of approximately 10 candidates, but the reality was that hundreds of people

file to run for president. When I filed as an example, like it got absolutely zero notice because it's

just like, Andrew Yang is running for president. It's like, who gives a shit? Like, no one knows who that was,

because it's like November 2017. So the rules around filing or primarily social is what I'm suggesting.

That the actual rules just about anyone can satisfy, but the real rules are the

institutional rules, the media rules, the DNC's rules in this case. When did they finally start

noticing you when you're like, oh, this guy's actually not messing around and he's gonna do something.

This was another entrepreneurship thing. The DNC set rules up to make the debates and then I was like,

what's the rule? What's the rule? Like 65,000 donations. Oh, okay, let's go do that. Let's go do that.

Like it was, it was a lot of fun on that level as a campaign because they would like set up a bar for

you and then you were like, let's go get it. I was passing people that we knew they wanted in the

debate. So as long as I did that, it was like the old joke about like, you know, I don't need to

outrun the bear. I just need to outrun the person next to me. Like as long as I was out running someone

that I knew they wanted to keep that like I was gonna be all right. That's so funny. That's such a

great analogy to describe that because it is weird for us at home where they're like, here's the

here's like the here's the varsity. And then here's JV. Oh, that JV guy, he got up to varsity and

then that one varsity guy, he's down to freshman basketball.

Andrew, this blew up my weekend. There's an outbreak and we have to do an episode.

Very, very late Thursday night. I get a text. This is a true story. I'm not that to

out him. I don't think you'll care. So Ken John text me and he's like, I'm running the T-Leaves

and I think Trump has COVID and he does this literally like an hour before the announcement comes

out. Wow. And then the announcement comes out and then I was like, oh my gosh, like he was right.
