I want to make it easier for people to get married and have kids in this country.

And the number one reason in 2018 that we had the lowest marriage rate of all time was

not having the funds, not, you know, your religiosity, secularization, any of that, which

is something that is erroneously blamed by, in my view, like, libertarian conservatives

on people.

When in reality, it's what you're talking about.

It's the cruelty of an economic system, which makes it so that you are not living up

and making the choices that you want to make.

It should be a giant red flag to all of us if you have the lowest marriage rates because

of economic insecurity, the lowest childbearing rates because of economic insecurity.

You talk to a young person and they look up and say, I don't know if I'm ever going

to be able to settle down in the Married and Heavy Kid because I can barely, like, pay

off my debt and keep a roof over my head.

To me, right now, our goals should just be human flourishing and I agree with you that

most all the time, the best way to have people flourishes, to put the agency in their hands

and let them make their own decisions.
