Hi, my name is Pete Gazzara. I want to welcome you today to the emotionally healthy leader

podcast. And our topic today, our theme is surrendering to God's season when life turns upside down.

Surrendering to God's season when life turns upside down. And I really want to revolve my comments

today around a verse and actually a text from Ecclesiastes

chapter 3, the core verse is to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under

heaven.

I've been meditating on this text and memorizing it, praying it, pondering it, sitting in

stillness and resting in the love of God around it

for the last few weeks. And actually, this past week, we had two deaths closely connected to us

here in Queens, Blanca and Frankie. And again, we're in the epicenter of the epicenter

of the pandemic at this point. And just, you again, we're in the epicenter of the epicenter of the pandemic at this point.

And just, you know, it was very sad, connected to our church for a very long time.

And so just, again, a season of sadness.

And we're in day 49 of shelter in place or our quarantine and so this is long very long

and it's looks like it's going to last a very long time and life has been disrupted for all of us

on many levels there's been a loss of control it's's happened to us. Our lies have been turned upside down.

And so we're going to talk about seasons. And really, I want to break up the seasons in four

levels. As I've journaled about it, there's a personal season. Then I got a family season,

in our case, four daughters, two of whom are married. And then I've got a church

season, the local church, and the larger church season that we're in. And then there's a world

season. And I've been reading, for example, just the last few days about as the pandemic

spreading into country's life, Afghanistan and Syria
