which heard its first case about the 2024 election.

and some of the protesters who were there this morning.

If Trump's conduct or alleging engagement

in an insurrection bars him from the ballot

as Colorado has decided, that was the question

before the court. The justice at times considered implications

of the violent attack that occurred. Remember, just across the street at the Capitol, bringing

home in a very physical sense how the high Court operates in tandem with the other branch.

The justices refer to that attack at times, but careful to avoid prejudging the other

prosecutions from that day.

They focused on this question of if a state can respond to that

attack by deeming a politician an insurrectionist and then booting him off the

ballot. Everyone realizing today the stakes are high.
