Among other beats Ruth Marcus has covered campaign finance, the Justice Department,

the Supreme Court, and the White House.

And for 15 years, she has served on the Post's editorial board.

Her new book, Supreme Ambition, Brett Kavanaugh, and the conservative takeover debuted last week.

So we want to start off before we actually get to Kavanaugh.

The book, Timing, is perfect because you talk about this contentious confirmation that happened

in the Senate about a year ago.

But now there is an equally contentious debate going on in the House over the impeachment of President Trump.

That's happening as we speak down the road.

So before we get to Kavanaugh, give us your thoughts on the impeachment process and where you think that's going.

Sure. Well, actually, it feels very familiar.

And I think there are some parallels, some Republicans themselves have called impeachment Kavanaugh 2.0.
