Hey, everybody. In the upcoming weeks, I'll be hosting a five-part series on the Afterroom podcast called the Evolution of Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses, or seed or better known as the Wild Weasel Mission.

We'll be talking to a lot of pilots over the course this five-part series, pilots who have been there and executed the Weasel Mission from Vietnam to Desert Storm to Operation Allied Force in Kosovo

and the European Theater of Operations, as well as Iraqi Freedom, a shock in awe, if you will,

and Iraq Part 2, as well as the current and future fight. I'm very excited to tell these stories.

It's important. We need to understand that as we move from the

post-Global War on Terror era into great power competition, that this concept of air superiority and

overall air dominance that we've enjoyed and almost become entitled to for the last 20 plus years

was built on the backs of, in my opinion,

heroes. And when you earn a weasel patch and you put one and you wear one on your

flight suit or on a shirt, as some people do, I've gotten the opportunity to execute this mission,

not in combat like these individuals have. And I don't ever want anyone to lose

the understanding or the spirit or just kind of the overall vision of these individuals

and how they actually executed this mission and how we take that lineage and honor that history into the future.

And the fact that this is an incredibly important mission, it is enabling for every command

objective in every conflict we could possibly ever have. And again, the fact that we've become

entitled to their superiority means that we might have to think about the seed thing like just a little

more.

What I do think is important as we get and hear these stories from these individuals that were

in the shit, if you will, and there is to lay a little bit of the groundwork on how the

Department of Defense and the United States Air Force in general got into the seed business,

if you will, going all the way back to the Vietnam War. So here we go.
