Hello, everyone. Welcome to Slash Film Weekly. It's Wednesday, July 16th, 2025. And on today's episode of the show, we're going to be talking about the latest film and TV news, and we'll have spoiler-filled conversations about James Gunn's Superman and Pokerface Season 2, and we'll present interviews with the people behind those projects. My name is Ben Pearson. I'm an editor at slashfilm.com, and it's just me in the intro today. Before we get into the show, I'm going to do something I don't normally do, which is share all of the housekeeping stuff at the beginning of the episode instead of doing it at the end. So you can find more about a lot of the things that we're going to talk about at slashfilm.com. I always encourage people to go to that website. That is really the driving force behind what keeps us going here. So please check out the stuff that we have for you over there. Definitely

Blue Sky, Instagram, and Letterbox at the username Ben Pearz. Okay, on with today's show. We don't

1:17.3

have anybody joining me for the news segment here, but we have a really big show for you today,

1:20.8

a bunch of meaty conversations about these big, big projects and some really cool interviews. So

1:25.9

hopefully it's okay that it's just me this time in the

1:29.0

news section. I wanted to mention that there is a new Zelda movie that's in the works that

1:33.9

Wes Ball, the director of the most recent Planet the Apes film, is directing. We've talked about

1:38.4

the existence of this Zelda movie on the podcast before, but now the project has found its Link and Zelda. So Zelda is

1:47.0

going to be played by Bo Braggison and Link is going to be played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth.

1:53.1

No idea who these people are, frankly. We have an article that runs through some of their

1:58.2

credits. I think a lot of people were expecting Hunter Schaefer to be cast as Zelda because that was like a fan casting thing that was going around.

2:05.7

That ended up not happening, obviously, and you can read more about the careers of the actors who actually have been cast in the article at Slashfilm.com.

2:14.5

Speaking of casting, Robert Eggers' Werewolf movie, which is supposed to come out in theaters, I think, next Christmas, has found its lead actors. So Aaron Taylor Johnson, who appeared in Nospheratu, is going to be reteaming with Robert Eggers for this new movie. And Lily Rose Depp, who is also in Nosferatu, is in talks to

2:35.1

co-star in the movie. I think she's supposed to be having more of a supporting role if that

2:39.9

casting ends up coming to pass, but that's a pretty cool reunion. I really enjoyed both of

2:45.4

their work in Nosferatu, so hopefully this will be the beginning of a long, fruitful

2:49.8

collaboration with Robert Eggers.

2:52.0

And I'm definitely looking forward to this Werewolf Project. So I believe December 25th,

2:57.7

2026 is the release date for that one. Guy Ritchie is no longer going to be directing Roadhouse 2.
