What's going on everyone? Kevin from Epic Gardening here. We're back with David the Good and this is a funny

episode because one of his taglines or one of his slogans is compost your enemies which I just every time I read it I laugh and it's hilarious

but he's also one of the books he's the author of is called Compost Everything

the Good Guide to Extreme Composting and I think it's going to be a cool episode

because what I like to do at least on the Epic Gardening

podcast and everywhere else I am on the internet

is kind of just get things practical,

get things simple and sort of demystify a little bit explain it in plain English and so that's what we're doing today with David it's going to be just what is the process of composting and what are all these rules that you don't necessarily have to follow so why

don't you go ahead and kick it off for us David all right yeah you know it's funny

because I got people's telling me I don't compost because I just it's just like it's so much trouble like we had

this bin in our backyard and it was a mess and I like I didn't really pay any

attention to it and then this and not the other thing and then I didn't make any

compost and so I just throw everything away and I'm like you know if you go online

and you look up you know simple composting or that sort of thing you'll get all

this stuff all the extensions and all these, a lot of these

gardening books they say, you know, don't put meat in the pile. Make sure that you get the proper

carbon to nitrogen ratio. Make sure that you turn the pile at a certain level of time, you know, make sure that you turn the pile at a certain level of time you know make sure that you have a

thermometer that will tell you that it's reached a hundred and blah whatever degrees and so

there's like there's all these rules and so people like look at the rules, they're like,

I would love to compost.

I'd rather not throw these food scraps away.

And then they're like, you have to,
