And happy Mother's Day.

Yesterday I was at Princeton giving a talk and the devotees there who organized the talk took me to an Indian restaurant and everything was overcrowded and then suddenly we realized

it's going to be Mother's Day, that's why.

And we have a big treat for you.

This Mother's Day, if you look at the treat, it's called nothing.

The void, Shunya, but I assure you it's far from nothing.

We have had two birthdays consecutively.

Recently we had Bhagawan Buddha's birthday.

And then before that we had Adi Shankaracharya's birthday.

So it struck me that we can have these two talks like a pair.

One on emptiness today, Shuniam, and one on fullness next Sunday, Purnum.

And we'll see where that takes us.

But today's journey is a journey into nothingness.

And why I selected this subject, a little background is important.

I mean, generally on the occasion of Bhagawan Buddha's birthday, we talk about the life of Bhagawan Buddha.

The core teachings, you know, four noble truths.

But I thought every year the four noble truths, let's do something a little different this time. Let's go a little deeper into

Buddhism and Buddhist philosophy. The reason you you know, someone might ask, why are you doing this, it's important to clarify

the background to this.
