Summary

It is not enough to obey God in part. The people of Israel witnessed God's deliverance of victory with the crumbling of the walls of Jericho, but they were then expected to secure that victory by putting all the inhabitants of the city to death. To often, the people of God are content to merely subdue sin, rather than mortify it. We cry out to the Lord, trust in his promises, witness his powerful deliverance, but then allow our sin to live. We are satisfied to capture sin, but unwilling to deliver the death blow. Instead, we make provisions for the flesh, so that sin might still be available to us at some point in the future. We must be ruthless in our individual sanctification to mortify sin. And we must be just as ruthless with societal crimes, especially abortion. Roe is dead, but the victory must be secured.

0:00.0	Amen. All right, today is going to be part two of Joshua chapter six. Right now we are preaching
0:06.0	through the book of Joshua. Last week, if you were with us, we began Joshua chapter six.
0:11.0	We dealt with verses one through five. And today we will be dealing with verses six through 21.
0:19.0	Six through 21. So we'll deal with the remainder of the chapter.

0:27.2	This week, Joshua chapter 6 versus 6 through 21.
0:31.0	However, the portion that I'm going to read aloud that I'd like to ask you to stand for

0:39.7	now for the reading of God's Word? I'll read that portion of our text today. Our whole text is
0:45.9	Joshua chapter 6 versus 6 through 21. The portion I'll be reading is Joshua chapter 6 versus 6 through
0:53.1	16. When I finish reading the text, I'll say this is the word
0:56.5	of the Lord, at which point I would appreciate very much if you would respond by saying, thanks be to God.
1:02.2	One final time, the portion that we're reading today is Joshua chapter 6 versus 6 through 16. The Bible says
1:09.5	this. So Joshua, the son of none, called the priest and said to them,
1:14.1	take up the ark of the covenant and let the seven priests bear seven trumpets of ram's horns before the
1:21.0	ark of the Lord. And he said to the people, go forward, march around the city and let the armed men pass on before the ark of the Lord.
1:29.4	And just as Joshua had commanded the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of
1:34.6	ramps horns before the Lord went forward, blowing the trumpets, with the ark of the covenant of
1:40.7	the Lord following them. The armed men were walking before the priest
1:44.8	who were blowing the trumpets,
1:46.6	and the rear guard was walking after the ark,
