Summary

Israel's former leader, Moses (who was a type of Christ), was dead. Rather than continuing to mourn his death, Israel is commanded to prepare for what is coming next. In three days time, Joshua (who is another type of Christ), would lead Israel (a type of the Church) across the Jordan River (which represented passing through death) and onto “resurrection.” This was not resurrection for the opportunity to rest. That was promised to come later. Instead, this “resurrection” was meant to provide the glorious opportunity for war. The Church in heaven is “triumphant” and at rest. The Church on earth is “militant” and at war.

0:45.8	Joshua, verse 1 through 18. Joshua chapter 1 versus 1 through 18. Would you join me now in standing for the reading of God's word
0:55.6	I'll read our text for us in this entirety when I finish reading the text I'm going to say
0:59.9	this is the word of the Lord at which point I would appreciate very much if you would respond by saying
1:04.8	thanks be to God one final time our text for today is Joshua chapter 1, verses 10 through 18.
1:11.5	The Bible says this, and Joshua commanded the officers of the people.
1:16.3	Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, prepare your provisions,
1:21.0	for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan to go in to take possession of the land
1:27.4	that the Lord your God is giving you
1:29.3	to possess. And to the Rubinites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manassah, Joshua said,
1:36.4	remember the word that Moses, the servant of the Lord commanded you saying, the Lord your God is
1:41.5	providing you a place of rest and will give you this land.
1:45.0	Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall remain in the land that Moses gave you beyond the Jordan.
1:51.8	But all the men of valor among you shall pass over armed before your brothers and shall help them.
1:59.1	Until the Lord gives rest to your brothers as he has to you.
