Summary

The circumcision of Israel, and their following observance of the Passover, signified the renewal of the covenant between Israel and God. In a similar fashion, my prayer is that in my lifetime I might be granted the privilege of witnessing a renewal of the covenant between America and God. This would not be the New Covenant, which God reserves only for individuals by regeneration. Neither would this be the Old Covenant, which God uniquely established with Israel according to the flesh under the Old Testament. And yet, to insist that nations today cannot establish any covenant with the Triune God is a foolish notion. Not only is it possible, but in the case of America, it has already been done. The goal of every Christian in America should not be “MAC” (“Make America Christian”), but “MACA” (“Make America Christian... AGAIN”).

0:47.0	chapter 5 versus 1 through 12. Again, that's Joshua chapter 5 versus 1 through 12. Would you join me now in standing for the reading of God's word?

0:58.2	In its entirety, when I finish reading the text, I'm going to say,
1:01.1	this is the word of the Lord, at which point I would appreciate very much
1:04.1	if you would respond by saying, thanks be to God.
1:07.3	One final time, our text for today is Joshua, chapter 5, verses 1 through 12, the Bible says
1:13.7	this, as soon as all the kings of the Amarites who were beyond the Jordan to the west,
1:20.0	and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the
1:26.4	waters of the Jordan for the people of Israel
1:29.1	until they had crossed over. Their hearts melted, and there was no longer any spirit in them
1:35.9	because of the people of Israel. At that time, the Lord said to Joshua, make flint knives
1:42.9	and circumcised the sons of Israel a second time.
1:47.4	So Joshua made flint knives and circumcised the sons of Israel at Gibbeth Heralov.
1:54.9	And this is the reason why Joshua circumcised them.
