A good morning, Witt. It was a scary situation for a

Southern California father who tells us he and his wife were outside their home when suddenly

he noticed a plane falling from the sky. He says his instincts quickly kicked in. This morning,

the FAA and NTSB investigating after a small plane crashed into a Southern California neighborhood, damaging two homes.

Officials say the pilot of the plane, a passenger and a dog aboard the small-engined aircraft did not survive.

kept the hose on the plane, and then it just exploded.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames and safely evacuate the residents inside the homes.

No one on the ground was injured.
