I have come a long way. I wouldn't describe myself as a fearful person anymore. I'm not fearless,

though. I've still got a waste to go, but boy, have I come a long way. But so in years past,

as a young mom, my fears did not keep me from reacting in hasty ways that could have so gotten me into trouble.

I think it's because I'm a fighter at heart, you know? I'm easily frustrated by bullies,

and I'm overwhelmed with compassion for the poor soul at the bottom of the pile.

Maybe it's because I've been that soul at the bottom of the pile.
