On Sunday, we take a little liberty to scoot in together, kind of have a more intimate conversation. You just grab a little cup of cozy of something. Let's snuggle up and have a deeper life conversation. Today specifically, I want to talk with you about two things, divine encounters

and discerning the season. It's so important to discern the season that you're in, because

if you don't, you'll compare yourself to others, and you may miss the best of what God has for you

in that season. You might be called to rest while your friends are running, and you're running, and you may miss the best of what God has for you in that season. You might be called to rest while your

friends are running, and you're running, and you're going to miss the download that God has for you.

You may be called to run, but everybody around you seems to be on the couch of ease, and you may miss

a divine encounter or an experience of God that you never otherwise could. You've got to discern the season so you can

discern what God is asking of you in that season. And then trusting God for these divine encounters.

It's, I think, one of his favorite things to do is to cross our paths with people who need what we

have or who have something to impart to us.

I remember many years ago I was walking through what I call a second mile season,

and I'm drawing this story from my book, Your Powerful Prayers, Reaching the Heart of God with a bold and humble faith.

And I called it a second mile season for this reason, because, you know, we love beginnings, right?

We love just coming out of the gate with a new project, a new start, and we like finishing as well.

But it's those miles in between where we can lose some steam. We can lose perspective, maybe

lose heart. I was there, friend. I was exhausted. I was brokenhearted. I was weary in battle. I was burdened actually. One of the things

that was burdening my heart was just nitpicky Christians, you know, working in media and ministry.

I feel things deeply. And so it wasn't even that people were picking me apart. I mean, they do and they

have, but it was just watching how people were being to each other. But then I had some of my own

personal heartbreaks and challenges and struggles and all of that to say. It was just, I was tired,

and I just needed to change up my prayer focus. So I put myself in what I called a Jesus eclipse.

And here's what I mean. I took my weary self, and I just drew closer to Jesus.
