| 0:00.0 | Say, won't he do it? Yes, he will. Welcome to Susie Larson Live Sunday edition. If you're new to this edition, I'm so excited to have you. |
| 0:22.9 | If you listen during the week, you know, it's a typical hour show, and I'm typically interviewing guests, but we decided to add the Sunday edition where it's just you and me, grabbing a cup of cozy, snuggling up and having some deeper life conversation. |
| 0:35.7 | And this kicks off our Lenton journey over the next several weeks. |
| 0:39.3 | We're going to walk through some truths and content from my book, Waking Up to the Goodness of God, |
| 0:44.8 | 40 days toward healing and wholeness. I love making this a Lenton journey, because when you |
| 0:49.8 | think about Jesus, why he came, you know, he came to heal the broken hearted, to bind up our wounds, |
| 0:56.1 | to set captives free, to proclaim a favorable year of the Lord, to destroy the works of the enemy, |
| 1:02.8 | and to transfer us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of his dear son. Jesus came with so |
| 1:08.9 | much good news. And I think as Western Christians, we sometimes reduce the gospel to be just about eternal salvation. Now, that is the utmost important part of salvation is being transferred out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God's dear son so that our eternity is secure. That is of utmost |
| 1:28.2 | important, so do hear me say that. But salvation is more than that. It truly is many of the |
| 1:34.6 | times when you see the word salvation in the New Testament. It means that and then some. It means |
| 1:39.4 | restoration, redemption. In some cases, it means healing, wholeness, and replenishment. Salvation is so much |
| 1:46.6 | greater, so much bigger than we could ever have imagined. And I would say we do ourselves a great |
| 1:52.0 | disservice when we have a mindset of just getting people in the door, got to get him saved, |
| 1:56.9 | get him to pray that prayer, as if he saves us to slave us. And now that you're one of us, go out and get more people, get him in the door. |
| 2:02.7 | And I've heard people say that that's been their experience, and that grieves me. Because just because you're in the door, so to speak, and you're saved, you're going to walk through heartbreak and hardships. And if you think that your only job then is to run out and get other people, regardless of what you're walking through, you're missing the heart of our Savior. |
| 2:22.5 | When he met the crowds, he led with compassion. |
| 2:26.4 | He delights in every detail of your life. |
| 2:29.1 | And if you don't think he cares, your hardships are going to skew your perspective of God, and you'll start to do a wrong |
| 2:37.0 | kind of math and draw a conclusion, come to an outcome that's false, as if he doesn't care, |
| 2:44.4 | and then you'll start not to trust him, and then you'll start to brace for impact. And I've got to be |
| 2:50.2 | honest, I lived much of my life |
