President Trump said today the U.S. Navy will begin a blockade of ships entering and leaving the Strait of Hormuz,

U.S. Central Command, saying all Iranian ports will be blockaded

beginning Monday 10 a.m. Eastern. Sencom says the blockade will be enforced impartially against

vessels of all nations. It will still allow ships traveling between non-Iranian ports to transit

the Strait of Hormuz. All this worries, Trreeta Parsi, Executive Vice President of the Quincy Institute,

telling ABC News Trump's move could bring global recession.

If he does this and he pursues it further, then there's a likelihood that Red Sea will be closed off as well by the Houthis,

and that's another 12% of the global oil flow that will be off the market.

We're talking about oil prices reaching $200, almost double of what we have today.

Oil prices have risen in early market trading.

The price of U.S. crude rose 8% to over $104 a barrel.

Brent Crude, the international standard is up 7% to $102. That's up from about 70 before the war.
