I'm Cindy U. and I'm joined by James Hill and Kate Andrews. So it's another day another candidate who's been in trouble for betting on the election.

Well, maybe that's not what we expect from a campaign so much.

James, tell us about what we found out today. Well, we found out that the kind of

Lab Brooks Casino running the Conservative Party continues to broaden. I mean, basically,

there's now been a number of allegations made, none of them proven yet

obviously, about who was placing bets on the date of the general election

when that was called on the 22nd of May. There seems to be a flurry of betting according to

Betfares data on the 21st and obviously this was first came up about a couple of weeks ago

when Craig Williams, the Prime Minister's Parliamentary, Private Secretary,

was reported to have placed a 100 pound bet on this and he owned up to that.

So that we now, there's an investigation going on there.

Then yesterday, a Protection Officer in Down Downing Street was arrested and bailed over claims that he placed a bet as well.

Then finally it transpires that Laura Sanders, the party's candidate in Bristol, Northwest, was also placed to bet.

She's the wife of Tony Lee, who is the party's director of field operations.

He's now gone on a leave of absence.

So obviously, the impression is that all these people have been known about the election

date they may have committed some offense or not if these allegations are true.
