Hello everyone and welcome to the first episode of the summer song songwriting summer series series of the summer

this is this is our little off-week kind of respite but also still making music because what else are bands gonna do besides play D&D and make music in the right pretty much

yeah let's talk a little bit about what this is of course we had our announcement so maybe you remember but if you don't we're here to give you a little refresher on that

sure sure sure so good once you want to tell people what we're here to do yeah so pretty much it's like the snow days thing we're all gonna take the same chords and write songs with it

Ali and Kyra gonna write two separate songs it's gonna be great and instead of only using acoustic instruments we're going to only use things available to us within the garage band

iOS app basically it's gonna be exactly like the snow days but with these new rules I do I'm gonna tell them to go for it

yeah okay I'm gonna call you butter because right now you're on a roll

okay well before I get into it if you don't care about all the rules and like us talking about songs and just want to hear the music

I will put timestamps for just when the songs are in the episode description just in case that's you know kind of your bag

yeah but if you want to hear all that goes into it here's the deal so so while we're writing the songs

basically the only thing we can record live is vocals everything else has to be samples from garage band

we can't use loops unless it's one you make yourself and if you do want to make a loop or if you want to record vocals to sing or anything

you have to use either the microphone on the iPad or iPhone or the microphone on like the earbuds and stuff

they used to like talk on the phone and everything so still kind of low-fi in its own way but with all the things that

garage band has to offer the other thing to not give spurrier and unfair advantage is that if you want to you know like input data

I don't know music into it's MIDI yeah so if we want to input anything into the iPad we cannot use a MIDI controller

we have to use the keyboard on the actual iPad like tap tap tap tap on the screen to make data

there's other ways to make the other been quote smart ways of doing that we've got to hold back those dastardly diligent digits

yeah exactly so we can't use any sort of peripheral we have to use what's in the iPad

think that oh and you guys are mixing your own songs I don't have oh

yeah just mix it with in garage band you'll be fine I believe in you there's like plugins and stuff

yeah it'll be fine this is for science so anyways that's it I think well thank you
