Today we're taking a look back at our summer sewing and sharing the lessons

0:22.1

we've learned along the way. We're going to cover what worked well for us this season,

0:26.3

what we do differently next time, and how these insights are already shaping our approach to

0:31.0

fall sewing planning. All right, Haley, our iceberg for today, what was your favorite non-sewing

0:37.0

creative project this summer?

0:39.1

I mean, it's kind of sewing adjacent. Yeah. But I've been working on organizing my sewing room in my

0:46.5

stash a little bit and really, like, aggressively culling things. Do you have a method or you just kind of getting rid of stuff? It's just like a

0:56.3

vibe. It's just a feeling. Yeah. I'm trying to be like a little bit. I feel like sometimes I go in

1:03.3

these faces with methods where I go like really hard on a method. And then I'm like, you know what?

1:08.7

Sometimes you just need to like figure it out as you go.

1:11.4

Yeah.

1:11.7

I'm going to figure it out as you go stage of my life right now. And I'm trying to embrace it a little bit more. Yeah. My type a-ness is really thanking me. But to balance all the organization, which you know I love, that's fun for me. That's, that's creative, right? I've also just been doing like little fun home projects too,

1:29.7

like replacing curtains and rearranging and that kind of thing. Yeah. You think of that stuff as

1:35.4

being kind of like fall, winter nesting, but I really like doing it in the summer. Me too,

1:40.0

because then my nest is prepared. Yeah. In the fall and winter. When you see squirrels getting ready, I guess that's in the early fall that you see them doing that, but they're not like nesting. The nest is done in the winter. Yeah. I want my nest to be done. That's true. That's very true. You know, I've been thinking about that too because I've been working on a lot of home projects as well. I don't know why, but in summer I just feel like feathering the nest. Yeah, I think too where we live, it's so cloudy. Like I get into this cleaning mode when the sun comes out in the summertime because I can see all the dust. Yeah, you see the dust. And then I see all the other things. And it really has this snowball effect.

2:19.5

Yeah. You know, you think of fall and winter and spring, too, as being dirty here because it's so

2:24.8

rainy and it gets so muddy. But I've just found that in the summer, our dogs track in so much

2:31.7

dirt and like grass seeds. They get so many grass seeds stuck to them.

2:36.3

I have a funny story. We took Gordy in for a grooming this weekend. So our neighbor does

2:40.7

professional dog grooming. She's got a whole setup. Perfect. It's great. And we barter for it,
